🌞 A proud moment for Team Scanlen!

Rudo Magundani and Fidelis Manyuchi provided expert legal advisory services on the establishment of the New Glovers Solar Plant, guiding the project from inception through to its official commissioning by the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe  on 22 May 2026.

The New Glovers Solar Plant is an agrivoltaic facility combining renewable energy generation with sheep rearing on the same land, marking the completion of the first 10MW phase of what is set to become a 120MW modular solar project. This makes it one of the most significant utility-scale renewable energy developments in Zimbabwe.

Agrivoltaics maximises land productivity by allowing agriculture and renewable energy production to coexist, reducing land-use competition while boosting food and energy security simultaneously. As climate change intensifies, bringing prolonged droughts, erratic rainfall, and rising temperatures that threaten food production across Sub-Saharan Africa, innovative solutions like agrivoltaics are no longer optional. They are essential. Projects like New Glovers directly address these vulnerabilities by building resilience into both our energy systems and our agricultural landscape. This landmark project is part of a growing portfolio of energy initiatives that Team Scanlen has proudly advised on, representing a significant stride toward sustainable development and fully aligned with ESG principles.
